The game started with Newcastle looking full off energy promise and with every move looked very good, moving the ball around st James park then an attack from Newcastle in which Sissoko crossed to Cisse back post at the Gallowgate end over a defenders head which he hit first time into ground back across the box, which bounced over hull defender and Remi netted with a great header 1 nil with the goalie getting no where near to it then hull passing the ball around and Newcastle backing off pressured our goal, Newcastle players struggling to clear and the ball ran through to Danny Graham who fired across the box, lucky escape Newcastle then again a ball crossed into Newcastle box and Danny Graham headed down and Tim Krull saved fantastically, but with hull still tightening the screw Newcastle cleared but hull kept pressure on and equalised with a ball back post to Robby Brady the only free hull player there who fired into the net, well deserved as Newcastle failed to clear and invited it on.
Newcastle then passed the ball around and Remi attacked the box the hull defense looking scared, he gave ball to Debuche who in turn gave to Cabaye who fired at goal it hit and a defender and fell to Remi who absolutely brayed it home 2 nil, then a fee kick conceded by Anita 25 yards out on the right for hull was lofted in and Elmahamady glancing header which got a slightest touch to it with a great run into box and it hit post into net past the full stretching krull 2 2, then hull passing round the midfield pressed down the side with a ball down to Boyd who ran to line Ben Arfa no tackle allowed the ball to be crossed in and fell edge of box to Aluko who fired with a great volley into the Newcastle net it was a fantastic volley 2- 3 then with five minutes to go Newcastle came close with ball to Remi in the six yard which he put wide a very lack luster game from Newcastle who seemed to sit very deep today and payed the price for not getting tight.
